I’m a local trekking guide from Bukit Lawang, and the rainforest of Gunung Leuser is more than just a place where I work — it is a place I know, respect and love to share with travelers from around the world.
For me, orangutan trekking is not simply about finding an orangutan and taking a photo. It is about experiencing the rainforest — walking through the jungle, listening to its sounds, discovering wildlife, learning about local plants and traditions, enjoying traditional food, and experiencing Bukit Lawang from a local perspective.
When you trek with me, I want you to feel more like you are exploring the jungle with a local friend rather than joining a standard tourist tour.
I keep my trekking groups small so I can give each guest personal attention, adjust the pace to the group, and make the experience comfortable, safe and memorable.
